Keynote Speech: Challenges in Modeling of Particles Discharge from Silos: CFD and other Methods
Discharge of solid particles from silos is a fundamental and significant phenomenon in various industries and numerous researches were performed on the particle discharge from silos. Among modelling researches in this field, finite volume method (based on computational fluid dynamics) and discrete element method have attracted majority of the attention of researchers. In this speech, mentioned methods are compared in the simulation of the particle discharge from silos and their advantages and drawbacks are discussed.
